Citing Savings, OIG to Increase Fraud Enforcement
Newly appinted Secretary of HHS, Kathleen Sebelius, has stressed health care fraud enforcement, citing that for every dollar spent on fraud and abuse detection and enforcement, the government receives $1.55 in savings. $1.7 billion over the next ten years has been set aside for such enforcement.
